About this piece
I originally composed this piece in A minor so that children could play it too. The score presented here as the Easier Playing Edition is that original version.
The Performance Edition develops the original in the manner of a set of variations, while remaining a short piece. I have made both editions approachable to play.
Over a classical accompaniment in triple time, a melancholy melody with a sense of gentleness returns throughout the piece. Its expression gradually intensifies, before the music slows and softens, ending quietly as if fading away.
A minor is one of my favourite keys, and I have composed many pieces in it. I look forward to sharing more of them with you, little by little.
