Composer’s introduction
Bagatelle No. 7 “Déjà vu” in A minor, Op. 23

In this piece, I tried to give musical form to the world of déjà vu, something I have experienced several times myself.
With autumn now well underway, I found myself in a park I was visiting for the first time, yet felt as though I had been there many times before. It was a very strange feeling. The sight of autumn leaves falling quietly felt somehow nostalgic.
I tried to express that feeling through gently wavering chromatic movements coloured by dissonance, and musical ideas that return at different pitches.
I hope you will listen and experience the piece in your own way, and perhaps enjoy playing it yourself from the score.
